That's My Jam!

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head for days? Well, I have that problem. I cannot get two of The Vamps songs out of my head! If you don't know who The Vamps are, they are an indie pop band from the UK. Moving on, I have two of their latest singles stuck in my head, which are 'Last Night' and 'Wild Heart'. I am always singing it; out loud and in my head. It does not matter where I am, while driving, in the shower, or in class... and right now. They're too catchy! Like it's fun and upbeat. The lyrics are not so bad. It's my kind of music. I even tweeted a lyric from 'Wild Heart' earlier. Yeah... It will take a while to get it out of my head. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy it.

The Desperation Is In The Air.

Yesterday, one of the favorite bands, 5 Seconds of Summer, had announced a contest to win two tickets to their concert along with a signed Fender guitar, and get this, a chance to meet the band. This is an opportunity that I could not resist. I was planning to go to the concert once they had announced the tour a while back, but I couldn't get the tickets because every ticket reseller bought almost half of the tickets. Then I just sat in my room and was mad at the world (not really, I'm just exaggerating). So after I saw the tweet about the contest, which included the website for the the contest registration and rules, I immediately entered and created something. The contest consists of taking and showing something from the cities listed in their tour with some band "pride" in it, such as, merchandise or lyrics and posting on Instagram and/or Twitter with the hashtags that they provide. I'm a bad fan for not having any merch, so I just took lyrics and photoshopped an image. I took a lyric from one of their songs from their latest EP and incorporated into a photo of New York City lights. I had fun editing the photo, because I do enjoy graphic design. I blurred out the photo to show more of the pride. I just hope I win, because that would be totally awesome.
This is my contest entry.

New Band Obsession.

The people who actually know me, know that I always have a new obsession with musicians and actors/actresses. I honestly don't know why I easily get obsessive towards people with talent, but I do. When it comes to music, I get way too obsessive because I just love music. When I discover new bands or artists, I will not stop listening to their songs. It will be on repeat. I will do my research to know a little about them and BAM! the obsession begins. When I was around 4, I was introduced to the pop culture because... well, it was everywhere. Then, when I reached the age of 9 or 10, I started listening to rock music ranging from pop rock to punk rock to alternative rock, basically anything that fits in that genre. That was when I fell in love with Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, and Paramore (they are not the only bands that I listen to, by the way). I am now 18, and I still love them. The more I grew up, I stopped listening to them for a while, because they all were on a hiatus. I began listening to indie music. Whether if it is indie rock, indie pop, indie folk, or anything in that specific genre, I will listen to it. My alternative, punk rock days were over in high school. I started to listen to different genres more and I basically like anything except country and techno. I do listen to 80s and 90s rock bands as well because my 6th grade teacher introduced them to me during my little phase. Yeah, pretty cool teacher, right? Haha. Then my life revolved around YouTube and I have a friend that talked about music to me. And so, I began liking more bands that were on YouTube through my friend. Then in 2012-2013 my favorite bands were back and I felt ecstatic. Moving on... I've recently found a new love for a band. A pop rock/punk rock band from Sydney, Australia, who also toured with One Direction in 2013. It is 5 Seconds of Summer aka 5SOS. They make me relive my past a bit. They make me feel nostalgic. Their music is pretty cool. They are just amazing. And not to mention, they are cute! I'm in love with 5SOS. I really do fancy them and I cannot wait until their album is released this year. Yes, the photo above is them. :)
